The men's signet ring: a classic that lasts for generations
A signet ring for men may well be the most personal piece of jewellery a man can wear: a ring bearing your family crest, monogram or initials, passed down from father to son. All our men's signet rings are handcrafted in our own atelier, in solid yellow gold, white gold or rose gold. Silver and platinum are available on request.
Most men choose a generous seal face in the shape of an octagon, oval or cushion, with or without an engraved gemstone such as blue layered agate, bloodstone, onyx or carnelian. How much does a men's signet ring cost?
A handcrafted men's signet ring in solid gold typically starts at around EUR 2,450 to EUR 2,900, depending on the current gold price, the carat, the model and the gemstone. A crest engraving is charged separately. You always receive a clear quotation in advance.
On which hand does a man wear a signet ring?
In the Netherlands most men wear the signet ring on the little finger, left or right according to personal preference. Historically the custom varies by family and by country: there is no fixed rule, comfort and habit determine the choice.
Which model suits a men's signet ring?
Men usually choose a somewhat bolder model: octagonal, oval or cushion shaped. The right choice depends on your hand, the desired engraving and your personal style. During an appointment in Zeist you can try the models side by side.
Can I have a men's signet ring engraved with my family crest?
Yes. Our atelier engraves your family crest by hand into the gemstone or into the gold itself. If your family does not yet have a coat of arms, our heraldic artist will design a new one according to the rules of heraldry.
