How much does a signet ring cost?
A handcrafted women's signet ring in solid gold starts at around EUR 1,950, a men's signet ring at around EUR 2,450 to EUR 2,900, depending on the gold price and the model. A crest engraving is charged separately: from EUR 325 for a shield up to EUR 850 for a complex coat of arms, see engravings. You always receive a clear quotation in advance.
How long does it take to make a signet ring?
Allow several weeks to a few months. A ring with an existing family crest is ready sooner than a ring for which a coat of arms first has to be designed. With your quotation you receive a realistic schedule; also read how the purchase process works.
How do I know my ring size?
With a signet ring, the size matters greatly. You can get an indication at home with a well-fitting ring, see our guide to ring sizes. We prefer to measure your size during an appointment, so the ring sits firmly yet comfortably.
Which engravings are possible?
We engrave family crests, monograms and initials, both in precious metal and in gemstones such as layered agate, bloodstone or onyx. Prices range from EUR 325 for a shield up to EUR 850 for a complex coat of arms. See all possibilities on the page engravings.
Can you design a family crest for me?
Yes. If your family does not yet have a coat of arms, our heraldic artist will design a new family crest according to the centuries-old rules of heraldry, in consultation with you and fitting your family history. Read more about designing a family crest.
Can you find out whether my family has a coat of arms?
Yes, we can carry out heraldic research into an existing family crest in armorials and archives. If a coat of arms is found, we redraw it and engrave it into your ring. You can read more on the page family crest.
On which hand and finger do you wear a signet ring?
Traditionally on the little finger of the non-dominant hand, but many wearers also choose the ring finger. There are no strict rules: comfort and personal preference come first. Read more about how to wear a signet ring.
My signet ring is broken. Can it be repaired?
In many cases, yes. A cracked shank can often be soldered and a loose or damaged stone can be reset or replaced. Send us a photo via the contact page and we will assess what is possible and what the cost would be.
Can I also have a signet ring made for a woman?
Certainly. We craft refined women's signet rings in yellow gold, white gold and rose gold, with a family crest, monogram or initials. The models are slimmer and more subtle than the men's designs.
Can I visit you to view signet rings?
Yes, you are most welcome at our atelier at Utrechtseweg 75 in Zeist, by appointment only. During your visit you can try on models, compare gemstones and gold colours side by side and receive personal advice. Call +31 (0)85 130 9219 or plan an appointment via the contact page.
How is my signet ring delivered?
You can collect the ring in person in Zeist, which we recommend so the fit can be checked straight away. Shipping is also possible: the ring is then carefully packaged and sent fully insured. We contact you in advance about the delivery moment, as described in the purchase process.
